Note:Quando equivale a ciò, lo si rende spesso con it ( non lo dire = don't say it), ma va notata la particolare traduzione dopo certi verbi: lo penso = I think so; non lo penso = I don't think so / I think not (d'uso più formale); lo spero = I hope so; non lo spero = I hope not; lo credo = I believe so; non lo credo = I believe not; te l'ho detto = I told you so; non te l'ho detto = I didn't tell you so.
